2018 Outdoor Sculpture Installations
Many of these sculptures were made as participatory public art projects. I taught classes where people worked together to create organic forms which became part of the sculptures pictured below. This creative process is meant to celebrate collaboration and our connection to the earth. These in situ sculptural installations intentionally straddle the line between what is human made and what is organic and biological. This ambiguity is meant to give the viewer pause. If art, which is a human activity, is in harmony with the site to the extent that it is indistinguishable from the environment, then does that suggest a way we as a species could relate to our world?
